Women's and Children's Health Network provides state of the art health care for women and children in Adelaide and South Australia.


We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions and SA's largest maternity and obstetric service.

We also provide important community-based services, of which the
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is an integral part.


Join our team and contribute to providing South Australia's women, babies, children and young people with the best health care through both within our hospital or via our many and varied community services and programs.


The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs

CAMHS provides services to:

infants / children / young people up to in some areas) for community, statewide and hospital-based services / perinatal women.

The Opportunity


We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the
CAMHS
Statewide Eating Disorders
team as a Peer Specialist, OPS2
on a permanent contract
, in a part time capacity.

**
The Peer Specialist by utilising their Lived Experience will support other consumers on their journey towards physical, mental and emotional wellbeing:
  • Authentic engagement with consumers to establish a trusting working relationship
  • A positive role model and resource, sharing personal experience of managing an eating disorder
  • Share recovery skills, strategies and experiences with the individual consumer or carers
  • Plan and evaluate educational groups with the aim of promoting recovery, increasing their psychological wellbeing and selfmanagement strategies, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team
  • Facilitate the development of research and continuous improvement in the field of eating disorders and peer work
  • Reduce stigma and create awareness
