In-House Legal Counsel

We have an in-house opportunity for a talented insurance litigator to join a national insurance organisation that has an incorporated legal practice.
The successful candidate will enjoy working alongside a group of high performance lawyers, ex-top tier and enjoy a friendly and collegiate culture.
The role reports directly to the Head of Legal and will be advising on a mix of professional indemnity, public liability, claims and policy advisory work.
Core ResponsibilitiesProvide legal advice to a wide range of industries, including infrastructure, construction, real estate and property sector through to IT professionals, architects and professional servicesBe responsible for and have carriage of your own files, with support and appropriate supervision from the national team and DirectorsUndertake a mix of public liability claims work and policy advisory with a strong focus on professional indemnityThe Successful CandidateA values-led legal professional with - 8 years' post qualification experienceBackground in defendant insurance litigation ideally with professional indemnity experience though other areas will be considered and training providedCommercial approach and ability to work relatively autonomously and run your matters (with support where needed).Strong client relationship skills and understands the importance of providing technically excellent adviceSelf motivated lawyer who enjoys working on matters from end to endTeam player who appreciates the importance of collegiality and mentoring of more junior lawyersJLegal Australia is a Specialist Legal Recruitment & Executive Search Firm.
