The Team
The Funds Business Group manage the operation and administration of PIMCO's global public and private Funds.

This role sits within the Funds Business Group covering APAC ex Japan, and has teams across Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Sydney and Shanghai.

The Australian Funds team (in which this role sits) is located in Sydney and is responsible for the operation and administration of the PIMCO Australia Fund range.

PIMCO has strong partnerships with key vendors in a global outsourced model.

In Australia, the Funds team are responsible for oversight of our strategic partner State Street, who have been appointed for Fund Administration & Custodian services for our Australian Funds.


The Role
This role will focus on the functions of

Fund Operations &

Fund Operations

  • Managing the workflow of capture and review of Fund related cash flows from Registry and instruction onward to the PIMCO investment teams.
  • Coordinating forecasts for Fund expense cash payables from Funds and communication of the liquidity requirements to investment desks.
  • Review of all vendor calculated Fund Valuations (NAVs) which includes the daily control processes around NAVs for timeliness and accuracy for release to the market.
  • Managing any changes to pricing methodologies per PIMCO Pricing Policy and coordinating the incident management process of any identified NAV errors.
  • Acting as a point of escalation from the vendor and working with internal PIMCO teams on resolving any investor queries.
  • Responsible for overseeing the program of work for production and review of Fee & Cost disclosure data required under ASIC Regulatory Guide 97 ("RG 97"). Implementing PIMCO processes and methodology to produce results and coordinating the dissemination of this information through to Fund documentation and the market. Working closely with internal Account Management teams on any client queries in relation to these figures.
  • Assist in the ongoing oversight of vendors to ensure service quality and coordination of periodic due diligence programs.

Fund Administration

  • Reviewing and approving the management Fee accruals produced by State Street for the funds
  • Coordinating the internal preparation of invoices issued to State Street for management fees
  • Processing service provider invoices through internal systems for approval & payment
  • Manage Management Fee Rebates (MFR) process with the Fund Administrator, arrange setup and maintenance of MFR client Conducting commercial analysis relevant to the Fund range profitability
  • Manage and communicate the timetable of fund distributions during the year
  • Ownership of the Fund Tax matrix that contains information on the fund's distribution details and elections
  • Working with Legal & Compliance teams, Fund Auditor and other global stakeholders to ensure that fund elections and tax processes adhere to regulation
  • Working closely with Fund Operations to ensure a robust review process over the Fund Administrator & Unit Registry provider for the preparation of AMMA Statements, AIIR Reporting, Distribution Statements and any other tax related matters.


In addition to these business as usual tasks, this role will also be involved from time to time in projects to enhance operating process and implement change internally (and with vendors).


Required qualifications & competencies

  • Bachelor Degree in a Business (Finance, accounting or related disciple preferred)
years' experience in Financial Services in fund administration, transfer agency, fund accounting or vendor oversight within an asset management firm or outsourced service provider is essential

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the structure and operational processes related to managed funds essential
  • Ability to manage small projects of work alongside business as usual
  • Strong English skills in both written and oral form essential
  • Strong analytic approach and problem solving skills required
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different business stakeholders
