Who are we?


Wintringham provides aged care services to those who are financially disadvantaged and have previously been homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless.

We employ over 950 staff and our Williamstown Hostel located close to Melbourne's CBD offers affordable, high-quality accommodation to 60 men and women aged 50 years and over.

We provide a safe, flexible, and caring family-style environment, which allows residents to maintain their chosen lifestyles, habits and activities and to be as independent as they choose to be.


Your new role


Wintringham is currently seeking an experienced and proactive individual to join our tight-knit and friendly Domestic Services team at Williamstown Hostel on a part time basis, for evening shifts.

As a Domestic Services Assistant, you'll be working within our Laundry team.

Your roster will be as follows:

Week 1:
Wednesday & Thursday

Week 2:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday

Your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Provide a comprehensive laundry service to the residents including labelling of clothing if required, sorting, soaking, washing, drying, folding, ironing if required
  • Delivery of clean laundry to residents
  • Facilitate repairs and alterations when required
  • Consult with residents and Care Staff regarding the individual laundry service requirements of residents
  • Clean all equipment as directed in the

Cleaning Schedule:
Laundry

  • Assisting the Food Services & Cleaning teams from timetotime
  • Previous experience in a cleaning/laundry role preferably in Aged Care/Health Care
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • A nonjudgmental approach to working with people
  • Qualifications and experience in food handling, infection control, manual handling and the use of cleaning chemicals (highly advantageous)
  • Food Safety Certificate and Food Handlers Certificate (highly advantageous)
  • Physically able to perform manual tasks including (but not limited to) bending & lifting
