Join our global talent management team as a People Business Partner supporting our APAC offices and client groups located in Melbourne, New Zealand, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo.


Summary:


In this role, you will support our APAC teams and locations and be the trusted advisor aligning business objectives with people solutions within the assigned client groups.

This role encompasses all aspects of the HR discipline, reports to the Sr. Director of Talent Management, and works closely with the People, Finance, and Legal teams.

The People Business Partner (PBP) is a people champion, change agent, and strategic partner to the assigned client groups. This role is responsible for ensuring that HR strategies align with organizational objectives, strategies, initiatives and culture.

The PBP partners with leaders and employees of the client groups and works closely with leadership focusing on organizational health, talent acquisition, retention and development, organizational design, performance management, employee relations, strategic workforce planning, change management, and driving cultural transformation.

The PBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture, and its competition.


As a critical point of contact, this position calls upon knowledge of HR best practices and knowledge of the business to accomplish customers' goals and objectives, and sustain an engaged workforce.

This position provides proactive HR consultation while acting as a champion for positive change.

In this role you will:

  • Act as an extension of the client group management team and actively support discussions that empower leaders to handle people and employee matters related to conflict resolution, compensation, company policy interpretation, retention, and management principles, including redundancies, resignations, disciplinary action, performance, leaves of absence, and other policy alignment.
  • Establish genuine relationships with client groups to ensure that you are in tune with the drivers and sentiments within each department.
  • Coach and counsel leaders and individual contributors to ensure they understand how to thrive in our environment, make decisions in line with our culture and assist them in their personal and professional development.
  • Partner with business leaders in people development and talent planning decisions to select and develop key talent to ensure employees are ready to fill critical roles and ensure succession planning is in place.
  • Provide dashboards and metrics on People data
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation and maintain employment handbooks. Advise managers on local employment laws, legal requirements related to day to day management of employees, and knowledge sharing best practices with them.
  • Collaborate with the People team to implement innovative and inclusive recruitment, learning, professional development, engagement, and retention strategies.
  • May be asked to present learning and/or leadership development discussions and courses. May be asked to lead culture building activities.
  • Consistently evaluate and make recommendations to enhance/improve our People processes and procedures to ensure they are aligned with our culture and strategic plan.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Manage headcount budgets and contractor arraignments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Minimum of 4 years working as a People Business Partner (Talent Management or HR Business Partner) with a strong HR Generalist background, preferably in the technology space.
  • Proven track record of building strong business relationships with internal clients, globally distributed teams, and senior leaders.
  • Experience working on change and transformation projects as a true business partner.
  • Ability to coach and where necessary carry out training sessions with line managers.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Detailoriented, datadriven, and analytical, familiarity with Workday is a plus.
  • Familiarity with employment law across the APAC region and comfort working directly with finance and legal partners.
