About the position

Queensland Rail is seeking a collaborative Workforce Planning Specialist to join our People Planning team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an Enterprise Workforce Planning initiative for the business.

You will have the chance to work closely with the broader People and Culture team and business leaders, leading the implementation and ongoing enhancement of workforce planning for Queensland Rail, as well as offering support tools and expert advice. In addition, you will:

  • Conduct workforce planning activities such as workforce segmentation, environmental scanning, researching labor market intelligence, and identifying critical capabilities and capability gaps.
  • Create actionable workforce plans to meet business objectives in the short, medium, and long term.
  • Assist in establishing and executing processes throughout the business by utilizing integrated planning, systems, and reporting to comprehend workforce impacts from changes in demand and supply.
  • Maintain and enhance workforce planning frameworks and tools to ensure consistency and rigor in workforce planning across the business.

About you

You possess strong interpersonal and influencing skills to establish and maintain productive relationships with diverse stakeholder groups. Ideal for individuals who enjoy problem-solving and excel at sourcing, analyzing, and interpreting data. Additionally, you will have:

  • Advanced analytical capabilities to interpret workforce data for evidence-based decision-making.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern organizational development and workforce planning.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing workforce planning frameworks, strategies, and implementation plans.
  • Experience with tools such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, or Anaplan is beneficial.
