Your new role:


The Facilities Services Planner is responsible for undertaking a wide variety of tasks for maintaining shipyard infrastructure and assets aimed at providing Preventative Maintenance planning activities relating to new and existing assets including the operation of MEX software (Assets Management System) within the shipyard.

The role will initially focus on the understanding of the Shipyard Assets and their status, the infrastructure and equipment, maintaining and developing reporting deliverables to the team and other stakeholders.

You will provide the planning information, and load assets into MEX so the Preventative Maintenance (PM) can be scheduled and maintained.

You will also provide visibility to the team of all reporting systems that require actioning by the Facilities Team, which will include MEX work orders to be actioned as per the schedule.


In terms of more specific responsibilities, you will:

  • Plan to ensure that the Site Maintenance Manager has visibility of the current and future PM checks for the Shipyard
  • Report on the status against MEX work orders open and work orders closed to assist with any adjustments to stakeholders
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Team to ensure that there is transparency between all stakeholders, including monthly reportback
  • Input asset data into MEX and provide administrative support to the MEX system and maintenance team and provide weekly PM schedule reports as required
  • Provide input with the generation of MEX request and provide triage and allocate work to the correct area
  • Coordinate the Facilities Helpdesk and input data into MEX and provide progress report to the request owner

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you will have:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to level of "Baseline"
  • Experience in defence or related industry and understanding of shipyard operations
  • Minimum Cert IV Trade based qualifications in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical or Equivalent
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Maintenance Planning experience would be an advantage
  • Welldeveloped selfmanagement skills and demonstrated ability to work under your own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality and cost
