Each year, we provide one in every three pathology services in Australia, extending from exclusively servicing some of Australia's largest and most complex private and public hospitals to small and remote Australian Aboriginal communities.
    About the role
  • We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team.
The main purpose of this position is to attend Fine Needle Aspirate procedures at radiology clinics around Brisbane.

Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Perform manual and automated diagnostic testing
  • Specimen storage and retrieval
  • Equipment maintenance and operation
  • Maintenance of records
  • Assist with stock control
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer

About you

  • To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
  • A Diploma of Laboratory Technology, Associate Degree or equivalent
  • Previous laboratory experience, preferably in diagnostic testing, is desirable
  • A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
  • Must be a cohesive and contributing member of the team and display positive attitudes towards achieving outcomes
  • Strong time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Awareness of Workplace Health and Safety and quality assurance processes and procedures
  • Previous Pathology Laboratory experience is desirable, but not essential
  • A current driver's license and the ability to work independently are essential.
  • This main duty of this position in the Cytology Department is the rapid adequacy assessment of Fine Needle Aspirate samples during FNA procedures at radiology clinics around Brisbane.
