The Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Analyst has arisen to join our Ammonium Nitrate Commercial team.

You will support the business in achieving its strategic objectives through:

provision of sound commercial thinking; research, analysis and preparation of documents to support commercial decisions, financial and operational planning, and contract/customer management; and identifying and implementing improvements to business processes and systems.


You will support the collection and analysis of information required for financial, market and commercial decisions and timely financial reporting.


Reporting into the Commercial Manager (AN); providing support to the commercial management function; managing raw materials supply; and identifying and implementing improvements to business processes and systems within the Ammonium Nitrate Businesses.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the development and ongoing maintenance of global Ammonium Nitrate market demand forecasts and future supply requirements.
  • Research and maintain supply trends, pricing forecasts, market trends and conditions.
  • Assist in the identification and evaluation of market opportunities in order to optimise business performance and provide a satisfactory return to the business.
  • Manage the preparation of budgets, corporate plans, forecasts, board papers, business reports, and month end financial reporting.
  • Coordinate precious metals leases and reconciliation processes.
  • Development of analysis and evaluation of new opportunities, and capital expenditure to support the business case as required.
  • Provide support to external customer or supplier negotiations and contract development.
  • Provide timely, ad hoc business and financial analysis, including cost reviews and reviews of customer proposals.
  • Identify, suggest and support the implementation of improvements to business processes and systems.

Skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science or a Business related discipline
  • Three years broad based experience within a consulting, marketing, accounting, business analysis or financial modelling environment.
  • Welldeveloped communication, interpersonal skills and relationship building skills.
  • Sound understanding of financial statements and financial evaluation principles.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Strong planning and project management skills.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
