THE POSITION:

Fairfield City Council has a fantastic opportunity for you to work with experienced professionals while gaining or increasing your qualification.

The role is for a period of up to 36 months which will combine work and training opportunities to gain a Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care through TAFE NSW.

The commencing salary is in accordance with the Local Government State Award.

Role Expectations

  • Be selfmotivated, enthusiastic, reliable and have a strong work ethic.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Have a 'can do' attitude and drive to succeed.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to study and course completion.
  • Must be able to work rosters between 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
  • Must be a permanent resident and over 18 years of age (legislative requirement).
  • Have current driver's licence, or have access to own transport.
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check Number.

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Temporary position for a period of 36 months, 76 hours per fortnight for Traineeship positions
  • This position is paid under the Traineeship Wage Rates, salary range is $738.00 per week.
  • A uniform is provided
  • 2 Health & Wellbeing Days annually
  • Accumulative sick leave (15 days per year)
  • Coaching and mentoring on line and face to face and additional training
  • Access to Council's Employee Assistance Program
