CSIRO Early Research Career (CERC) Postdoctoral Fellowships provide opportunities to scientists and engineers who have completed their doctorate and have less than three years of relevant postdoctoral work experience.

These fellowships aim to develop the next generation of future leaders of the innovation system.

Your duties will include:

  • Undertaking statistical modelling to assist with the development of spatiotemporal analysis of health and demographic data (related to AMR and other infectious diseases).
  • Deriving AMR resistance relative risk estimates while taking into account the spatial and temporal structure of the data.
  • Incorporating demographic and other socioeconomic features at a regional level which may help identify factors associated with AMR resistance.
  • At a patientlevel, using linked health data to determine patient flow and care pathways.
  • Utilising various analytic and statistical methodologies to evaluate, select, interpret, and validate large datasets (including linked health data).

Salary:
AU$92k - AU$101k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

  • A doctorate (or will shortly satisfy the requirements of a PhD) in a relevant discipline area, such as biostatistics, statistics, mathematics, epidemiology, engineering, physics, or a related discipline with comparable experience

Please note:

To be_ _eligible for this role you must have no more than 3 years (or full-time equivalent) of postdoctoral research experience_.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with programming languages/packages, such as R and Python, including the ability to programme new analyses, clean and structure data, and develop and validate appropriate models.
  • Demonstrated experience in the selection of a wide range of statistical methodology for the development of workflows to address broad research questions.
  • High level written and oral communication skills with the ability to represent the research team effectively internally and externally, including the presentation of research outcomes at national and international conferences.
