The
Women's & Children's Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia.

We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA's largest maternity and obstetric service.


Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.


Social Work Services assist women and children consumers of the hospital, and their relatives, understand and manage their health condition and/or the social issues impacting upon their wellbeing.


Social Workers at the Women's and Children's Hospital help to improve the quality of life for women, children and young people and their families.

The Opportunity


An exciting opportunity exists within the
Allied Health Division to join us as a
Social Worker (AHP1) working in a
full-time capacity, on a
short-term contract.


As a
WCHN Social Worker, you will:

  • Provide professional Social Work Services to children, adolescents and their families
  • Provide specialist knowledge and skills within a multidisciplinary setting and work closely with other health professionals and community agencies
  • Contribute to the development of clinical practice, which promotes optimal delivery of services to clients of the Women's and Children's Hospital

About You


To be successful in this role, you will possess demonstrated oral and written interpersonal communication skills including engaging clients with low trust of services and culturally diverse clients.

Additionally, your demonstrated ability to provide written psychosocial assessment and social work interventions with individuals, families and groups will be heavily relied upon.
