Job Summary:

CDS Depot Workers are responsible for efficiently managing the collection and processing of recyclable containers, such as bottles and cans, in a container deposit scheme depot.

They play a vital role in promoting environmental sustainability by facilitating the recycling of these materials and ensuring compliance with recycling regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

Container Collection:
Receive recyclable containers from customers at the depot.
Sort and inspect containers to ensure they meet program requirements.
Provide assistance and guidance to customers on the return and earn process.

Container Processing:
Operate machinery and equipment for processing and compacting recyclable containers.
Ensure that containers are properly cleaned, crushed, and sorted for recycling.
Monitor equipment for safety and report any maintenance needs.

Customer Service:
Assist customers with questions and concerns related to the return and earn program.
Provide information about program rules and regulations.

Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and recycling standards.

Cleaning and Maintenance:
Keep the depot area clean and organized.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery as needed.

Team Collaboration:
Work cooperatively with other depot workers to ensure efficient operations.
Assist in training new team members as required.

Must Have:

  • Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy containers.
  • Knowledge of recycling regulations and environmental concerns is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills for recordkeeping purposes.

Job Types:
Part-time, Casual

Salary:
$ $65.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • On call
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • MELTON, VIC 3337: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Warehouse: 1 year (preferred)

Language:

  • English (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driver Licence (preferred)

  • Australia (required)
