**Job Summary**:CDS Depot Workers are responsible for efficiently managing the collection and processing of recyclable containers, such as bottles and cans, in a container deposit scheme depot. They play a vital role in promoting environmental sustainability by facilitating the recycling of these materials and ensuring compliance with recycling regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Container Collection**:Receive recyclable containers from customers at the depot.
Sort and inspect containers to ensure they meet program requirements.
Provide assistance and guidance to customers on the return and earn process.
**Container Processing**:Operate machinery and equipment for processing and compacting recyclable containers.
Ensure that containers are properly cleaned, crushed, and sorted for recycling.
Monitor equipment for safety and report any maintenance needs.
**Customer Service**:Assist customers with questions and concerns related to the return and earn program.
Provide information about program rules and regulations.
**Safety and Compliance**:Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and recycling standards.
**Cleaning and Maintenance**:Keep the depot area clean and organized.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery as needed.
**Team Collaboration**:Work cooperatively with other depot workers to ensure efficient operations.
Assist in training new team members as required.
**Must Have**:
- Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy containers.
- Knowledge of recycling regulations and environmental concerns is a plus.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping purposes.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
**Salary**: $25.00 - $65.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- MELTON, VIC 3337: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
- Warehouse: 1 year (preferred)
**Language**:
- English (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Driver Licence (preferred)
