About the After Hours Manager role

The After Hours Manager (AHM) position is a leadership position, assuming delegated responsibility for operating functions of the organisation beyond business hours. In particular the AHM coordinates clinical hospital activities and ensures the effective and efficient use of resources through appropriate allocation of staff and management of bed allocation. The After Hours Manager also functions as the Chief Warden in case of emergency.

A regular day will see you:

Support the provision of patient care in all areas of the hospital after hours in collaboration with the Executive Nurse and MidwifeManage escalated client issues or complaintsEnsure midwives and other staff are rostered as required, and adhere to hospital policies and procedures, providing individual support where policy/procedure is not followedEnsure operational performance meets accreditation and statutory requirements, providing clinical assistance where appropriate

About you

Registration with AHPRA – Division 1 RN with endorsement as a MidwifeSignificant hospital-based experience at a senior level and current clinical knowledge, skills and experienceAppropriate further qualifications in management or similar Demonstrated leadership skills, with a customer focusUnderstanding and commitment to the Baby Friendly Hospital initiative accreditation
