THE OPPORTUNITY
An exciting opportunity has become available for a
Purchasing Officer based in
Huntingwood. This position involves working as part of our collaborative Purchasing team - reporting to the Purchasing Manager.


As the Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for co-ordinating and managing all raw materials, buy in and stocked products as well as ordering consumables for use across the business.


The Purchasing team is solution orientated and works closely with our suppliers and other departments to ensure our customer's orders are delivered in full, on time and to specification.

The role requires a person who is efficient, well organised with good time management and people skills.

As a part of the Purchasing team, you will need to possess good negotiation skills, attention to detail & accuracy, and good computer skills.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Obtain and process quotations.
  • Generate purchase orders.
  • Process & coordinate customer orders with our 3PL provider to ensure orders are picked and distributed within the required lead time.
  • Expedite outstanding orders with suppliers to ensure our customer orders are delivered in full and on time.
  • Monitor and maintain accuracy of inventory using various reports and regular cycle counts.
  • Participate in stocktakes.
  • Review and administer supplier cost updates
  • Undertake general administration duties.
  • Collaborate with team members, other business areas and projects as required
  • Strict adherence to our critical safety rules & contributing to a safe working environment

ABOUT YOU

  • Demonstrated experience managing inventory with industry experience in Retail, FMCG and/or Manufacturing is imperative and experience in a multisite manufacturing business is an advantage.
  • Someone who is in the process of completing or already obtained qualifications in a Purchasing or Supply Chain course.
  • Previous experience in working for a steel building or home improvement company would be highly regarded but is not essential.
  • Experience with Oracle would be advantageous.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders
  • Excellent written & verbal communication, including a professional phone manner.
  • Proven ability to provide solutions and think outside the box.
  • Well organised with good time management and people skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with attention to detail & accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
  • Whilst experience is great, it'll be your passion, reliable attitude and personality that set you apart
