Queensland Rail has an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated digital media professional to join its fast-paced, friendly and dynamic Media team as a
Digital Media Adviser
(AS5).

This is
permanent opportunity, based in Brisbane CBD, with a
starting base salary of $98,972 plus 12.75% superannuation
.


Queensland Rail's media team delivers a wide range of communication and media relations activities state-wide to keep customers and stakeholders informed of Queensland Rail's activities.

We develop key messages and use visual storytelling to showcase Queensland Rail's people, projects, initiatives and performance.


We have the perfect opportunity for a former video or digital journalist, or digital media specialist, to assist in providing high-quality video news release content to media outlets including filming and editing overlay and interviews, digital content and social media videos.


We are looking for someone with high attention to detail and the ability to develop strong relationships with journalists and other key stakeholders.

This role requires an organised self-starter who can manage their time and competing priorities extremely well.

  • A high level of photographic, filming and editing skills, including experience with a wide variety of software to support the creation of digital media content
  • Proven experience working within a fastpaced, complex environment
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • High level social media skills, including the ability to create effective and innovative content, scheduling and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability in building and sustaining productive stakeholder relationships
  • Demonstrated skills in writing copy for news or corporate communication channels including media releases, online articles, social media and speaking notes
  • Very high level of organisation skills and attention to detail


A qualification in communication or digital-related or relevant discipline is essential, as well as 4+ years' experience within a similar media relations role or newsroom.

A drone licence is preferable.


Please note this role requires working outside of normal business hours on occasion, including regular participation in an on-call roster for out of hours media enquiries.
