As a Residential Care Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to residents in a residential care setting.

You will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, monitoring residents' well-being, implementing care plans, and promoting a safe and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate and personcentered care to residents in accordance with their care plans and individual needs.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
  • Monitor residents' physical and emotional wellbeing, and report any changes or concerns to appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and maintain accurate medication records.
  • Assist with meal planning, preparation, and serving, ensuring residents' dietary needs are met.
  • Coordinate and participate in recreational activities, social programs, and other therapeutic interventions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, including assisting with housekeeping and laundry tasks.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting social interaction and engagement.
  • Collaborate with other members of the care team, including nurses, allied health professionals, and support staff, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for residents.
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, regulations, and standards of practice.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Disability, or Community Services.
  • Previous experience working in a residential care setting, preferably with elderly or vulnerable populations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of personcentered care principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fastpaced environment.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety regulations and infection control measures.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor towards residents and their families.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain).
