What you'll be doing The primary purpose of a Research Officer is to perform high level research, provide significant intellectual contribution to research project/s and produce high quality research data for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

The position also requires contribution to written preparation of manuscripts and funding applications.
Co-ordinate and manage clinical trials and manage administration, patients, and their families within this context. All day to day activities require the co-supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Completed a Ph D or in final year of Ph D in Biological Science.
Specific interest in Neuroimmunology will be an asset.

Extensive experience in research output, published work, presentations at conferences and seminars, demonstrating intellectual input into the conception and direction of original research and increasing independent implementation of a research project.

Experience in supporting people such as patients and families, in a science or health setting, including ensuring clinical datasets are completed and analysed.

Establish a local profile within area of intellectual and/or technical expertise, with emerging national and international exposure.
Significant experience in co-supervision, training and guidance of junior research support staff, and/or undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Capacity to prepare and/or contribute to successful research proposals to external funding bodies and other agencies.

Experience performing tasks requiring the integration of substantial theoretical and technical knowledge to develop or apply new technologies, including clinical trials, microscopy, cell culture, flow cytometry, immunostaining and novel immune assays.

Experience with complex datasets and biological material storage for 'omic' studies will be important.
