Your Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join a high performing teaching team in the role of TAFE Teacher - Hospitality and Cookery.

We are looking for people with current industry experience, knowledge, and qualifications in the Hospitality and Cookery field to join our teaching team.

This is a permanent full-time position and will be based at the Ipswich Campus reporting to the Educational Team Leader.

Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must possess relevant formal industry vocational qualification Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (SIT30821) or equivalent and the following:

  • Minimum three years industry experience;
  • Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
  • Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided; and
  • Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competencybased training and assessment.
  • Additionally, to become a TAFE Teacher, you must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
  • TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills (or TAELLN401A) and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools (or TAESS502A or TAEASS502B); or
  • TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or
  • TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor; or
  • TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development; or
  • TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development or its successor; or
  • A higherlevel qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland)
  • Current Queensland Driver's Licence.
Highly Desirable Skills and Experience

  • High level of digital literacy skills across various platforms (online Learning Management Systems)
  • Qualifications and experience across both backofhouse and frontofhouse.
Salary

The salary range for a TAFE Teacher is $85, ,971 (gross) per annum, depending on educational qualifications held and teaching experience.
