About the Role

Online Facilitation includes the management and continuous improvement of the online Supervisor Professional Development Program (SPDP), a series of three, 5-week online social courses to train the supervisors of physician trainees in effective supervision practices.

The Online Learning Officer administers the online SPDP courses, including enrolments, moderation and coordination of facilitators.

They will drive the continued improvement of both SPDP, its associated processes and social learning in the unit, including data driven recommendations taken from both analytics and participant feedback.


Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the Supervisor Professional Development courses, including facilitating the registration and enrolment of participants and the sourcing of facilitators and moderators.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service to participants of the course, including assisting with queries and ensuring a smooth experience in undertaking the online course.
  • Facilitate/moderate online modules to enhance the online learning experience
  • Provide comprehensive support to participants throughout the duration of each course to ensure high successful completion rates
  • Execute completion reporting at the end of each course using Excel, and distribute certificates to successful participants and inform unsuccessful participants
  • Regularly review and streamline existing processes associated with the ongoing maintenance and implementation of the online Supervisor Professional Development program
  • Review and assess the success of each social course that is run, including use of data analytics, participant surveys and broader feedback to continually improve facilitation techniques, design, and implementation

  • Education to degree level or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating online communities, online courses, workshops or learning and development sessions, with demonstrated ability to effectively engage participants in an online environment
  • Demonstrated thorough and contemporary understanding of digital learning and digital technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in using existing data to continually improve processes
  • Demonstrated experience in developing guides or simple instructional material
  • Demonstrated experience in moderating and growing online communities
