About The Opportunity

As a Landfill Attendant, you will work at various waste management facilities across the Bundaberg Region. Your position will involve opening and closing of these facilities, identifying and sorting waste and recycling materials, maintenance of the sites, load inspections and more. As a casual employee, the number of hours you will work will fluctuate.

About You

  • Possession of a current "C" Class Driver's License.
  • General Construction Induction (White) Card.
  • Sound level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of different waste and recycling streams, including various categories of valuable scrap materials.
  • Experience in cash handling and receipting.
  • Demonstrated sound level use of computer related software including MS Office Site, Internet, e-mail and Council corporate software and gate / weighbridge software or similar.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions in a physically demanding role
  • Experience in operation of waste management facilities. (desired)
  • Experience with or knowledge of the handling, storage and disposal of Hazardous Substances and Dangerous Goods. (desired)
  • A current heavy rigid (HR) truck license. (desired)
