Job Description

The role of the Project Quality and Data Specialist is to help and assist in execution of Projects to achieve successful completion meeting or exceeding the expectations of all stakeholders by primarily analysing existing systems and procedures, setting up, implementing, and/or improving Quality Systems and internal procedures in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 Standard.

He or she is the valued and trusted professional with a primary focus promoting a culture of continuous improvement for project delivery encouraging an analysis of existing systems, identifying problem areas 'plan, do, check and improve' approach through the development and/or improvement of existing Database, Software, and Dashboard.

He or she will ensure the effective implementation of quality management systems and processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Moreover, he or she is the valued and trusted professional with a primary focus of studying, analyzing and utilizing project data in supporting Project Delivery team in monitoring and controlling the quality aspects of APAC projects, while identifying areas for improvement and assisting team in implementing corrective actions to achieve project objectives and deliver high-quality results. Supporting Project team stakeholders to enable data-driven decision making is one of the key responsibilities of the Project Quality and Data Specialist.

The Project Quality and Data Specialist will be based in Australia but with a broader focus on Asia Pacific Region.

This position will report to Fluence Vice President Delivery APAC and requires an autonomous, highly dynamic and pragmatic individual who likes working in a matrixed and virtual environment, working with multiple stakeholders, working on multiple projects/tasks at one time, and working as part of a global team.

Experience within Energy markets is an advantage but is not mandatory, an agile mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced start-up technology led environment is essential.

Responsibilities

Following a rigorous study of existing systems, utilizing your analytical skills in identifying problem areas and improvements you will be responsible for assisting and encouraging the project team and company personnel to implement data-driven decision making by:


• Standardize Quality of Delivered Project: Work closely with Total Quality Management Team in setting up and improving internal procedures and documentation in relation to Quality to ISO 9001:2015 and in planning and implementing scheduled internal audit program.


• Quality Management System Implementation: Work with APAC Project Delivery Vice-President and Directors to document and establish Key Performance Indices. Additionally, work with the team to develop, implement, and maintain a robust quality management system that aligns with industry standards and project requirements.


• Monitoring and Reporting: Develop and maintain a system for measuring and reporting project quality metrics to project teams, senior management, and customers Regularly monitor project activities, quality metrics, and performance indicators to track progress, identify deviations, and report on quality-related issues to project stakeholders.


• Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, internal procedures, regulations, and contractual requirements throughout the project lifecycle.


• Documentation and Documentation Control: Work closely with the team to maintain accurate and up-to-date project quality documentation, including procedures, records, reports, and project-specific quality plans ensuring that project documentation meets regulatory requirements and industry standards.


• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and subcontractors to promote a culture of quality and effective communication regarding quality management practices, project goals, and performance expectations.


• Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement for project delivery encouraging a 'plan, do, check and improve' approach through the use and improvement of existing Database, Software, and Dashboard. Additionally, proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the implementation of best practices in quality management to enhance project outcomes and overall efficiency.


• Training and Guidance: Provide training, guidance, and support to project team members regarding quality management system requirements, procedures, and the effective use of project data for quality monitoring and control.


• Project Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret project data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement related to quality performance in construction projects.


• Project Data Management: Provide leadership and guidance in database setup and maintenance and guide the individual project teams about provision of required data. Proactively work with project team members such as project managers, site managers, engineers, technicians, and local management as necessary to ensure deliverables are met and database is maintained.

Experience & Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a minimum 2 years relevant experience in an energy, engineering and/or battery storage related field. Is highly flexible, well organized and has an ability to interact in a multicultural environment. Travel and to work under pressure are also very important.

In addition, qualified candidates will have:


• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.


• Solid experience in quality management within the construction industry, with a focus on utilizing project data for monitoring and controlling quality.


• In-depth knowledge of quality management principles, standards, and methodologies applicable to BESS systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO


• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using relevant software tools such as Power BI, Salesforce, and Microsoft Offices


• Strong understanding of BESS project management processes, including planning, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.


• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement based on project data.


• Detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all quality-related documentation and processes.


• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders at various levels.


• Certifications related to quality management in construction (e.g., Certified Quality Auditor, ISO 9001:2015 Implementer Training)


• Familiarity with construction-specific software and tools for quality management and data analysis is a plus.


• Market specific (APAC) and/or domain specific (energy storage) project experience is desirable.


• PMP certification or other project management qualification is an advantage


• Six Sigma or LEAN is a plus.

Education: University degree in Engineering or other relevant discipline is required. A Master's degree is desirable.

Certification: Internal Auditor for Integrated Management Systems

ISO 9001:2015 - Quality Management Systems (QMS) Implementing Training Certification

Languages: Fluent English required, and a 2nd language is advantageous (particularly German, Tagalog or Mandarin).

Travel

The role will include frequent local travel inside APAC Region and may include some regional travel to Fluence offices or supplier factories. Occasional travel to other markets e.g., Fluence's headquarters in Arlington, VA in the USA or Erlangen in Germany may also be required.
