About the team


As a result of Santos' ongoing growth strategy, we are enhancing our Information Systems (IS) department to better align to business growth needs with newly organised teams who support our distinctive business operations.

About the role


Based at our Flinders Street Office in Adelaide, the IT Operations Manager is responsible for delivering an all-inclusive common services portfolio directly to the global, service focused, Senior Operations Manager.


Role responsibilities:

  • Establishes effective operations, governance and management of the services within their portfolio alongside frequent, transparent reporting of service delivery.
  • Recommends improvements, with a focus on simplifying and standardised ways of operating in alignment with the IS company strategy
  • Maintains accurate forecasts and proactively manages budgets
  • Ensures the IS Infrastructure is maintained effectively, whether on Santos premise or in colo data centre. This includes server, network, end user and field telecommunications
  • Manages and ensure delivery of End User Computer services via internal staff and third party delivery
  • Partners with our core managed service provider to maintain and optimise IS services, and monitors supplier performance
  • Champions change and foster performance cultures to achieve desired culture outcomes and engaged team members and 3rd party managed service providers

About you

  • Experience in leading teams of professionals and/or individual contributors
  • Understanding of ITIL principals
  • Recent experience with vendor contracts and supplier management
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing the delivery of multiple concurrent projects
  • Proven experience in successfully managing business change, influencing great outcomes and has evolved ways of working
  • Experience in stakeholder management


You will also ideally be degree qualified or hold equivalent tertiary and/or relevant work/industry experience in related IS/IT technical area.
