The Opportunity:

Due to ongoing business growth and reporting to the Manager, Fabrication.

The Project Coordinator, Fabrication, is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the manufacturing project related to the engineering consultation, fabrication, and delivery of these specialised excavator buckets for the Mining industry.


The role is pivotal in ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and meet the demanding requirements of the mining industry.

This includes coordinating customer orders and factory-supplied drawings to facilitate production execution. Effective coordination of projects is essential for the role to succeed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create detailed project plans including engineering consultation, material procurement, and manufacturing processes
  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures to ensure cost efficiency
  • Allocate resources, such as skilled labor, machinery, and equipment, to meet project demands
  • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to understand customer requirements and orders
  • Manage and organise factorysupplied drawings and technical documentation
  • Coordinate suppliers for effective delivery and supply, minimising supply risks relating to project timelines
  • Monitor progress on projects to meet projected completion dates, managing costs, and negotiating realistic timeframes and pricing
  • Provide weekly reporting for the bucket program to assess performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure ontime delivery, managing transportation and documentation

Skills & experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Diploma of Project Management highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing manufacturing teams
  • Customer relationship management experience
  • Extensive experience in planning and project management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Project management, organisational, and communication skills
  • Proficient in project management software, ERP systems (BaaN IV) and CAD software highly desirable
  • Familiar with safety and quality standards in the mining industry
