About our Early Learning Services

Georges River Council owns and operates six early learning services located at Beverley Hills, Carss Park, Oatley West, South Hurstville, Kogarah and Penshurst. Council's early learning services educate and care for approximately 400 children with enrolments continuing to grow. We have a team who have been recognised for excellence in Environmental Programming and we are proud of our Reconciliation Action Plan which is developed in consultation with Aboriginal staff and community members.

Our educators take pride in their profession. We adhere to the guidelines, practices and regulations surrounding the National Quality Standards (NQS) and regularly review Quality Improvement Plans. Our services strive for excellence with some of our Centres receiving an overall exceeding rating by ACECQA.   • Competitive hourly rate $28.99 per hour plus 25% casual loading and 11% superannuation

Selection Criteria

Qualifications, Certificates & Licences

  • Certificate III in Children's Services
  • Current Working with Children Check, with at least 6 months until expiry.
  • NSW Department of Education and Communities approved Child Protection Training Certificate.
  • Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Certificates, with at least 6 months until expiry.
  • Food Handling and Preparation Training or Certification.

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience working with groups of children aged 0-5 years in a Childcare Centre setting (or similar)
  • Sound oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Broad knowledge of child development
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting in the planning, implementation and evaluation of Centre programmes
  • Demonstrated ability or willingness to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
