Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Minimum degree level qualification in environmental science, urban planning or equivalent
  • Solid experience in an environmental, sustainability or related field
  • Strong capacity or sound experience in the development of strategies, policies and programs related to environmental sustainability
  • Proven project management skills with a strong record of achievement in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating a broad range of programs and projects
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and disseminate environmental knowledge at both an individual and organisational level
  • Demonstrated analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Current class C driver's licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience in urban planning, energy management, renewable energy, and/or carbon accounting
  • Experience in staff supervision.

Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $2,092.25 per week
  • 35hour working week
  • Leaseback vehicle
  • Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
