About the role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead our projects from inception to completion. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalising projects within set deadlines and budget constraints. This role involves acquiring resources, coordinating the efforts of team members, and managing third-party contractors or consultants to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Duties include:

Strategy & Planning

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Communicate project expectations clearly and promptly to team members and stakeholders.
  • Continuously liaise with and manage project expectations among stakeholders.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project progress and deliverables.
  • Determine and analyse status reports and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Define and disseminate project success criteria.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews, document lessons learned, and create recommendations.

Resource Acquisition & Deployment

  • Estimate resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, recommending changes when necessary.
  • Negotiate time commitments with department managers for required personnel.
  • Assess and recruit additional staff or consultants as needed.

Operational Management

  • Direct and manage project development from start to finish.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and communication documents.
  • Delegate tasks and resolve issues within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
  • Deliver project status reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Manage changes in project scope and devise contingency plans.
  • Coach, mentor, and supervise project team members and contractors.
  • Build and maintain vital business relationships.
  • Oversee day-to-day project activities, including planning meetings, preparing documentation, and monitoring deliverables.
  • Maintain project registers and logs.
  • Achieve consensus through negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Establish and review committee memberships as needed.
  • Ensure Teams Project Channels are up to date with all project documentation.

Leadership and Relationships

  • Lead the internal project team, including business SMEs and IT resources.
  • Maintain strong external relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure project delivery within agreed parameters and methodology.
  • Support organisational business objectives through active team participation and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and respond to external inquiries promptly.
  • Advocate for change and promote project benefits to the business.

Profile

Skills and requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in IT project management, including process development and execution.
  • Familiarity with PMBOK, Prince2, and Agile frameworks.
  • Proficient with MS Project, MS Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Proven experience delivering infrastructure projects.
  • Skilled in identifying project issues and collaborating with stakeholders to create action plans.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting project strategies and plans to diverse audiences.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical personnel at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective leadership, coordination, motivation, negotiation, and dispute-resolution abilities.
  • Adaptable and responsive to change, capable of operating at a high pace.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Politically sensitive, and able to complete projects in complex environments.
