About the role:


Campbelltown City Council is experiencing exciting growth and opportunities, and has realigned the delivery of it's Planning team to more effectively deliver future Planning works.


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join the team, the ideal person will be an exceptional communicator with a people centric focus and a proven track record of leading a high performing team.


  • Working closely with Senior Leadership to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement for the benefit of the Team and broader Community
  • Set and communicate team and individual goals and expectations for performance through the provision of clear direction and guidance to all team members
  • Coach and mentor team members to help them achieve their professional goals
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic, high standards of performance, and a commitment to teamwork
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners to achieve common goals
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness
  • To be accountable by setting high standards of performance and holding self, team members, colleagues, outside contractors, service providers etc. accountable for results and actions.
  • To manage the following portfolios, developing Council as a key authority and best practice organisation in these portfolios:
  • Planning Administration and Support
- o Development Assessment
- o Building Certification
- o Fire Safety
- o Development Engineering
- o Urban Release Areas

  • Degree qualifications in a relevant field with extensive jobrelated experience in a planning and development related field
  • Expert knowledge of relevant legislation affecting local government, planning, and development
  • Demonstrated skills and experience to provide motivation, leadership and support to staff members and to plan and coordinate activities
  • Experience in managing communications in a politically sensitive environment
  • Demonstrated skills and extensive experience in conducting meetings and public presentations
