We are currently seeking a motivated Maintenance Fitter to join our Melbourne team in Oakleigh. Reporting to the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor, this position involves various activities supporting the operations team to ensure efficient use of machinery, maintenance and enhancement of facilities, coordination of contractors, and administrative assistance to facilitate smooth operations on site.You will be:
  • Part of a versatile team, conducting maintenance on various factory and warehouse machinery, infrastructure, and facilities
  • Performing mechanical breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and system checks as per schedule
  • Conducting thorough troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repairing or replacing damaged units
  • Ensuring all equipment and installations adhere to mechanical safety and compliance with WHS and Quality standards
  • Supporting manufacturing through production and repair of jigs, fixtures, tooling, and completion of small batch production components
  • Aiding the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor in planning, scheduling, and executing maintenance tasks
What we are looking for
As a crucial team member within a broader business context, we seek a clear communicator and efficient team player capable of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks concurrently. The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Fitter & Turner/Machinist trade certification
  • Experience in breakdown and preventive maintenance on production machinery, including NC machinery
  • Proficiency in hydraulics, pneumatics, and control systems
  • Background in manufacturing working with automated machinery and robotics
  • Demonstrated positive, proactive, and motivated work approach
  • Diligence and thoroughness in task execution and record-keeping
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
