About this role

As a Cost Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining, controlling, and reporting project expenditure, cost forecast vs budget of site work activities for all projects.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate cost allocation and financial reporting of projects to the head office.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the purchase requisition and order process, including raising purchase orders in the financial system.
  • Ensure accurate project cost allocation by updating budget, commitment, incurred, and forecast costs in the cost control database and reporting system.
  • Administer and maintain projects in the performance management system, including setting up new projects, loading and maintaining budgets, troubleshooting system errors.
  • Assist with keeping key project attributes up to date in the project server, such as daily reports and accruals.
  • Assist with identifying, logging, and tracking project risks and issues.
  • Manage the monthend accruals and cost recovery process for projects.
  • Validate invoices, progress claims, and variations from contractors.
  • Investigate issues and analyze data from the accounts team.
  • Handle project closeout in all matters relating to cost.
  • Perform general project administration, including schedule updates and attendance of internal/external project meetings as well as site visits.

About you

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Administration experience with performance management system mandatory.
  • Scheduling experience preferable but not mandatory.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within the mining, engineering, or construction industry in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, in particular cost, procurement, contract, scope, schedule, and risk management, change control, communication, and project reports.
  • Strong computer and data entry skills.
  • High degree of organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Right to work in the country.

Our offer

This is a full-time permanent role based in Shailer Park, with a salary range of $85,000 to $110,000 (dependent on experience).
