Qantas Freight is Australia's largest independent air freight services business, carrying over 4000 air freight shipments per day across more than 500 destinations globally.

Qantas Freight operates 2 domestic overnight freighter networks, flying 60 flights per night utilising 17 dedicated freighter aircraft.


As the Duty Controller Freighter Operations, you will be responsible for coordinating & planning day to day Freighter Network Operations in line with business requirements, and in the event of disruptions, formulating a plan and communicating schedule recovery solutions.

In this operational role, you will effectively liaise with key stakeholders on matters of operational significance, identify and address recurring operational issues and escalate issues as appropriate.

You'll have

  • The ability and experience to make crucial decisions under pressure
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks and meet extreme deadlines.
  • Advanced influencing, negotiation & collaboration skills.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation and demanding external customers
  • Out of the box thinking and practical problemsolving skills in often complex situations
  • Experience in Freight Operations & systems and Airport operations would be an advantage
  • Ability to work on a rotational shift roster
