The Role:

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic
Laboratory Assistant to join the team at Northern Health.


This role will be responsible for the receiving, sorting, preparing and transport of specimens for analysis; assisting with the registration of pathology requests into the laboratory information system; performing laboratory investigations and general laboratory duties as directed by senior staff.

As well assisting with mortuary duties will be a requirement of the position.


This role is a Permanent Part Time position that involves working a
Permanent overnight shift (weekend and public holiday shifts included).

In addition there will be a requirement to participate in the on call roster.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Certificate or Diploma in laboratory techniques or similar
  • Experience and good working knowledge of Pathology LIMS
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team
  • Must have the ability to work a permanent overnight shift including weekends and public holidays
