About the role

The Communications and Design Officer (International) plans, develops, implements and evaluates communications and design activities to support international programs and services
:

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Deliver graphic design within allocated timeframes to support the management and promotion of DE International's programs, including designing and updating publications, forms, infographics, marketing materials, presentations, social media graphics, and other items as required.
  • Plan and produce video content, including coordinating video production projects with external contractors and filming/editing video content as required.
  • Ensure compliance with brand, style, privacy and accessibility requirements.
  • Maintain and develop DE International's style guide and asset library.
  • Support and/or lead communications projects and events as required.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing or a related discipline.
  • Hold a valid clearance to work with Children (Working with Children Check) for paid employment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education

Key knowledge and experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience in producing print publications and merchandise.
  • Intermediate video production skills, including Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
  • A second language is highly desirable.
