What you'll be doing


You will complete a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician over 48 months qualification through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with the Host Employer.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist with various electrical work
  • wiring, conduit work and terminations
  • Read electrical and mechanical diagrams, drawings or specifications to determine job requirements
  • Operate electrical power tools
  • Perform maintenance on fire & electrical systems
  • Test for, locate and repair electrical faults
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas
  • Work onsite as well as inspecting BlueScope Sydney facilities

The successful applicant
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following capabilities and knowledge:

  • Commitment to both on and off the job training
  • Demonstrated interest and passion for the industry
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment and positively contribute to team goals
  • Ability to undertake a Pre-Employment Medical including Audiometry, Spirometry and a drug and alcohol screen

It will help if you have

  • Current drivers licence (P1 or above)
  • WHS Construction White Card
