We are currently searching for a Department Manager - Civil Services to join our NSW Civil & Manufacturing team, where you will lead the local team and help drive effective, safe, and profitable outcomes for Fulton Hogan.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic individual with a zeal for tackling new challenges, particularly within a vertically integrated business where support from existing teams ensures a pathway to success.

Based in our Campbelltown office, we are looking for someone who can adeptly manage change, develop people, and meet the demands of both internal and external customers.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing new business opportunities from conception to operation and providing ongoing management and leadership to the team
  • Recruiting and onboarding staff to facilitate the successful implementation of the civil services department
  • Assisting in the selection and procurement of necessary equipment and machinery
  • Identifying growth and diversification prospects by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Offering guidance and leadership to the local team, defining roles and responsibilities clearly, and ensuring consistent performance standards are met
  • Reporting and analyzing subcontractor expenditures on projects to identify opportunities
  • Promoting a safety-first mindset throughout the department in alignment with Fulton Hogan's safety culture
  • Conducting commercial and financial assessments of monthly project costs for accurate forecasting and cost analysis
  • Demonstrating initiative in identifying and resolving issues proactively, with the ability to take on new challenges

To excel in this role, you must be an enthusiastic and hands-on industry professional. This position is suitable for a site engineer, project engineer, or site supervisor seeking their next career adventure.

You should possess strong financial acumen, commercial prowess, and exceptional leadership qualities. Building solid relationships, managing stakeholders effectively, taking ownership, and showcasing problem-solving abilities are essential traits.

An in-depth understanding of cost management, budgeting, forecasting, subcontractor oversight, estimating, and cost control is vital. You should strive for positive outcomes while fostering a culture of autonomy, accountability, and continuous enhancement.
