The Team
The Storage and Networking team is responsible for the storage and networking components of the Technology department.

As such the team is responsible also for the proactive maintenance of LAN and WAN logical and physical environment, including configuration, physical and logical hygiene and configuration backup and server networking architecture and to ensure proactive administration of EMC, Power scale, HP SAN, NetApp, Nutanix and NAS infrastructure.


The Role


Be responsible for the day-to-day operational administration and maintenance of SBS's Network and Storage environments and solving any problems / issues that may occur.


  • The implementation, development, documentation, testing, and maintenance of LAN and WAN networks, routers, switches, and firewall solutions; working independently, in a team, and with vendors.
  • Maintain the underlying storage platforms and ensure that they are managed in line with best practice processes that cover monitoring, reporting, performance, capacity, availability, and security management, regardless of the platform in use
  • Lead the Transformation / Migration to cloud requirements for the Network and Storage team


The role is expected to innovate and ensure quality is continuously improving, safeguard the integrity of data transmission, implementation, and support meeting both industry best practice and SBS requirements.


About you

  • A degree in computer science, other technical disciplines, or comparable qualifications
  • Operational experienced and proficient in Cisco networking.
  • Cisco Catalyst 6000 and Cisco Nexus 9K switching families and VXLA
  • Cisco Checkpoint Firewalls, Cisco Firepower 2000 / 4000 series firewalls
  • Cisco ASA 5000 series and Cisco AST 1000 series routers
  • Operational experience with Dell Isilon / Powerscale, NetApp, SAN technologies
  • Cisco CCNA certification.
  • Operational experience with Cisco Prime and Cisco DCNM management platforms
  • Knowledge of RIP and BGP protocols
  • Knowledge of Cisco WAPs, WLC and ISE
  • Solid Routing and Switching skills
  • Operational experience with backup solutions, especially Veeam and Commvault
  • Operational experience with Data Replication, snapshots, and Virtualisation Technology (VMWare)
  • Familiarity with L47 services integration in a data centre environment
