Assembly Fitter

EIR Labour Hire is looking for a Machinist to join our client in Chermside. Our client manufactures and supplies a wide range of metal and plastic products to the irrigation, mining, and civil sectors across Australia.

• WEEKLY PAY: $37 per hour + Super + OT
• LOCATION: Chermside, QLD
• HOURS: MON-THU 7am-3:30pm | FRI 7am-1pm
• BONUS: Temp to Perm Opportunity

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Receive and interpret Work Orders authorizing and describing the fabrication requirements of the company's products.
• Select appropriate materials from stock necessary for the correct fabrication of the company's products.
• Ensure that the fabrication and quality checking processes are undertaken in accordance with all instructions, procedures, and industry standards to ensure that only quality products are released for sale.
• Conduct fabrication work in accordance with published production schedules.
• Minimize the generation of material scrap and waste, and ensure all scrap material is processed for recycling in accordance with waste management procedures.
• Undertake product quality inspections and tests, interpret results, and take appropriate action relative to inspection and test outcomes.
• Ensure all required product labels, stencils, and other markings are attached or made on completed fabricated products.
• Close out Work Orders and other fabrication documentation in the prescribed manner.

THE ESSENTIALS YOU MUST HAVE TO BE CONSIDERED:

• Previous lathe operating experience.
• A trade qualification or experience as a Fitter & Turner or as a Machinist is essential.
• A positive attitude to work and the ability to participate in a cooperative team environment is essential.
• Good communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with peers and area supervisors are required.
• Literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to enable reading and interpreting operating procedures, production documentation, measuring equipment, and plant programming and monitoring screens and gauges is essential.
• Prior experience working with digital industrial machines would be beneficial.
• On the job training and competency assessment in production techniques and plant operation will be provided to the incumbent.
• Ability to pass a drug & alcohol test.
