We currently have a permanent, full time opportunity for a Business Performance Analyst to join our Finance Division. This role will be based in our new, state-of-the-art head office in Collingwood and will report to the Head of Business Performance Management.

The Business Performance Analyst will assist the Head of Business Performance Management by providing precise, timely and insightful reporting on the financial performance of the bank.

What you will be doing

  • Partnering with senior business leaders to drive a thorough understanding of their current and future cost base, challenging assumptions, and assisting in prioritisation of resources
  • Owning month end cost accruals
  • Analysing variances in costs and preparing rolling forecasts and budgets
  • Managing the tracking and reporting of initiative spending
  • Assisting in the preparation of Board financial reports
  • Driving improvements in the control, efficiency, and scalability of finance processes to ensure that they are appropriate for the size of the business
  • Work with the heads of department to deliver insights into the existing cost base, understand the drivers of variances and prepare budgets / forecasts for their cost centres
  • Own the accruals process for the month end close
  • Work closely with the Head of Business Performance Management to deliver the month end reports for the Executive and Board
  • Work closely with the Head of Business Performance Management and other senior leaders to review the current chart of accounts structure.

What you will bring

  • Relevant post graduate qualifications (i.e CA or CPA), or part qualified with previous business partnering / financial planning and analysis experience
  • Demonstrable finance experience
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Strong communications skills, with the ability to explain detailed and technical information in a simple way
  • Proven track record of process improvement
  • Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organisation
  • Strategic mindset
  • Demonstrated professionalism including fairness, integrity, confidentiality, discretion and judgement
  • Demonstrated ability to meet expected deadlines including planning and organising skills
  • Data driven, uses data to support assumptions.
