Position Information:

Roselea PS is located in North Western Sydney and has a student enrolment of 328 students. The school culture is that of connectedness, inclusion and belonging with students in both mainstream and support classes. Students, staff, parents and the wider community work together to promote school excellence.

Our school is supported by an inclusive, connected and aspirational multi-cultural community. Our Chinese Community Language Program supports students in maintaining and developing further communicative competence in their community language.


Roselea PS offers students a wholistic education where students are given the opportunity to participate in a range of extra-curricular opportunities in sport, technology, and Creative and Performing Arts.

Positive Behaviour, Engaged Learners and Peer Support are programs that contribute to the sense of community and wellbeing at the school.

Roselea PS has a unique leadership program where every year 6 student is given the opportunity to develop their interpersonal and leadership skills.

Roselea PS has a specific focus on the individual academic growth of each student.

Through collaborative practice we use high impact professional learning to incorporate evidence based best practice into our teaching and learning programs.

Over the past 3 years we have seen our students' performance increase dramatically in literacy and numeracy.

Selection Criteria:

  • In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary, combined with demonstrated strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to balance exemplary classroom teaching practice with the complex leadership and management roles of an Assistant Principal.
  • Evidence of instructional leadership to inspire and mentor teams to effectively analyse and use student achievement data in the development, implementation and evaluation of high quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs.
  • Evidence of highlevel emotional intelligence, communication, and interpersonal skills to build productive relationships with students, staff and parents, and maintain a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Proven ability to lead evidencebased, differentiated and inclusive practices that positively impact student engagement, behaviour and wellbeing.

General Selection Criteria:

  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
