The Opportunity


Reporting to the Senior Engineer - Field Engineering, you will use your planning expertise to ensure all non-process infrastructure (NPI) maintenance activities are effectively planned and scheduled.

As the team custodian of the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS), you will also ensure work and workflow processes are followed and that data quality is not only maintained but improved.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review and assess maintenance work requests and collaborate with customers to clarify job requirements.
  • Develop maintenance schedules, and coordinate between stakeholders to minimise downtime and ensure personnel, equipment and materials are correctly allocated including site access and qualification prechecks.
  • Implement and optimise preventive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Ensure accurate records of maintenance activities are captured in the CMMS and that equipment parts lists, manuals and technical specifications are kept up to date.
  • Produce performance metrics in accordance with key performance indicators and provide insight that supports business decision making.
  • Manage all work in accordance with WesCEF's Safety Management System (SMS), including Permit to Work (PTW) and Management of Change (MoC) processes.

About you


You possess a relevant qualification (trade certificate, degree or diploma) with experience in maintenance planning within the mining, chemical or mineral processing industry.


In addition you possess:

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance planning methodologies.
  • Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning software (preferably JD Edwards or SAP).
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office package with competence in Microsoft Excel and Power BI (Power BI not essential but advantageous).
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements with respect to high risk tasks such as elevated work platforms, forklifts, rigging, demolition and excavation works.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing and standards.
