About the role
RACQ has a rare opportunity for a Corporate Finance professional to join in the Strategy and Transactions team.

As a Corporate Strategy and Transaction Specialist you will play a key role in executing our Group's Strategy by supporting corporate development opportunities through M&A, investment, partnering, joint ventures, and divestments.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide guidance throughout the entire process, from ideation to transaction and integration, as well as support the regular evaluation of portfolio investments.

Your key duties will include:

  • Proactively managing processes to support the delivery of successful transactions aligned with Group Strategy
  • Supporting cross functional transaction teams executing on corporate development opportunities including due diligence
  • Undertaking detailed financial analysis in respect to business development opportunities, including financial modelling, business valuations and scenario analysis.
  • Strategic analysis of market risks and opportunities
RACQ's Corporate Strategy and Transactions division is working across short and long-term strategic investment initiatives, especially towards 2030.

In the last few years, we have invested in and partnered with sustainable companies, including the introduction home solar and batteries, Green Home and Car Loans, and many other products and initiatives.

We'll continue to advocate for and offer green solutions.

About you


Ideally you will possess a strong sense of self-sufficiency and proactivity, with a personality that excels in interacting, influencing, and negotiating with others.

A results-oriented mindset and aptitude for working within a small team environment are essential. The ability to adapt to diverse projects and proficiently manage workflow is critical for success in this role.

Further to this, ideally you will have:

  • A relevant tertiary degree within commerce, accounting, economics or similar
  • A minimum of 35 years of experience within a consulting firm or similar corporate environment
  • A proven track record of delivering results in a commercial setting
  • The ability to act largely unsupervised to achieve agreed objectives
  • Excellent research skills and ability to work on several projects concurrently
  • High attention to detail and welldeveloped computer literacy skills
