This role is part of the Coastal and Islands' Regional Directorate.

We are seeking a self-motivated reliable team member with exceptional communication and time management skills who has a passion for Human Resources.

This position is required to provide generalist human resource management and Recruitment & Selection advice and support to the Regional Director Regional Leadership Team and Coastal and Islands regional staff. In addition to providing high level administration support and coordination of administrative and executive processes it is highly desirable to have experience in interpreting or applying the Parks and Wildlife Employee Award or similar complex award in an operational perspective environment. This position will be responsible for the provision of operational support for human resource generalist activities, as well as project and administrative support.

The Coastal and Islands Region covers a diverse landscape stretching from the world's largest sand island, World Heritage-listed K'gari, (Fraser Island) to the Southern Bay Islands in the south. The region manages six of the seven recreation areas in Queensland; K'gari (Fraser Island), Mulgumpin (Moreton Island), Bribie Island, Inskip Peninsula, Cooloola and Minjerribah that adjoins Naree Budjong Djara National Park on North Stradbroke Island. The region also manages and preserves several iconic cultural heritage sites in Queensland including Fort Lytton and St Helena.

The Regions parks and forest estate cover 269,213ha, and consists of seven national parks, 15 conservation parks and two State forests and resources reserves.

This position requires an applicant who has:

• Demonstrated experience in providing a range of HR administrative support and high-level HR advice to clients

• Demonstrated ability to manage a team and be part of a team to ensure successful delivery of outcomes and use of resources.

• Demonstrated sound analytical problem solving, project management and research skills especially relating to Human Resources.

• Demonstrated sound level of written and oral communication skills.

• Contemporary knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire a sound knowledge of public sector legislation, directives, polices and standards.

• Contribution to workplace equity and diversity that enriches our culture of innovation, respect and inclusion.

While there is no mandatory qualification required to undertake this position, it is highly desirable to have experience in interpreting legislation or applying the Parks and Wildlife Employee Award or similar complex award in an operational perspective environment.
