Our Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) Planning and Communities team is currently seeking to appoint multiple
Manager, Planning to support EnergyCo attain statutory approvals to successfully deliver Renewable Energy Zones across NSW.


The Manager, Planning will play a pivotal role, responsible for provision of expert planning advice and support to assist EnergyCo project teams secure essential planning approvals for Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and overseeing strategic planning initiatives in regional NSW communities.

This includes engaging with regulatory bodies, referral agencies, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and fostering strong community support for EnergyCo projects.


About You


To be successful in this role, you bring a proficiency in managing complex challenges inherent in the delivery of large scale linear infrastructure developments and working within high-pressure environments.

By providing specialised advice and support, you will navigate the diverse and evolving needs of stakeholders, promoting industry investment in REZs while also minimising planning related risks for high public value projects.

You will be required to navigate and attain approvals pursuant to _Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 _and other relevant legislation.

Through strategic relationship-building and effective engagement strategies, both internally and externally, you will foster collaboration and facilitate initiatives that maximise EnergyCo's ability to secure consent and build strong partnerships across government and communities.


Essential Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in the fields of planning, environmental studies, law, linear infrastructure development, renewable energy generation and/or other relevant discipline
  • Current Australian Drivers licence (Class C minimum) and willingness to travel.

Who we are?


EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of more than 14 gigawatts of new transmission capacity, coordinated with renewable energy and storage, including in five new REZs and two priority transmission infrastructure projects to date.


We are responsible for the on-ground infrastructure needed to bring new renewable energy online at the scale and speed to meet our transformation objectives in the _Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020_ and NSW Network Infrastructure Strategy.


January 2024 EnergyCo NSW joined the newly formed Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) which works to protect the state's environment and heritage.

It leads the way on climate change, driving the sustainable transition to a net zero economy, powered by affordable, reliable, and clean energy.


We acknowledge the ongoing custodial responsibilities of the Aboriginal peoples of NSW to care for Country and water and are committed to establishing meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal peoples in the management of the environment.
