The role


This senior leadership position is responsible for leading the development and Delivery of Strategic Approvals (including project approvals, environmental approvals and offsets, native title and cultural heritage agreements and Green House Gas and minerals tenures) to enable the development of Renewable Fuels and Carbon projects.


You will also coach, mentor, develop and empower the team, and provide them with direction and support, to maximise their engagement and performance.


The role in more detail:

  • Lead the development and delivery of Strategic Approvals
(Including project approvals, environmental approvals and offsets, native title and cultural heritage agreements, Green House Gas and minerals tenures) enabling the development and delivery of Future Fuels projects.

  • Identify, develop and implement the strategic objectives for the Strategic Approvals portfolio with a focus on enabling low cost operations through reducing timeframes to secure access and gain EPBC approvals.
  • Develop, maintain, and assure a gain access process (approvals and agreements) for Future Fuels activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including government policy makers, regulators, industry, JV partners and other business partners to support portfolio objectives and outcomes.
  • Negotiate, manage and implement Native Title and Cultural Heritage agreements (including undertaking cultural heritage surveys) and identify opportunities for Origin to develop positive relationships with Traditional owners.
  • Identify and influence regulatory reform and practices to achieve business value (for example, to reduce approval timeframes, and drive simplification, standardisation and efficiency in meeting regulatory obligations).

To be successful in this role you will come with demonstrated senior leadership skills and experience, with the ability to motivate people towards a vision, engage them to deliver, and establish strong business discipline and governance.


MORE ABOUT YOU:

  • Expert knowledge (mastery level) and experience of either major project approvals (including EIS processes), tenure administration, land access and/ or environmental approvals in the petroleum & gas, mining or heavy industry sector (gained on the industry or government side).
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with external stakeholders, develop productive relationships, negotiate and influence.
  • Results orientated, with demonstrated advanced analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing fit for purpose systems and processes to deliver compliance obligations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence regulatory reform processes.
  • Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience of native title and cultural heritage requirements in the resource sector.
