About the Role:

Improving our Supply Chain performance is crucial to the longevity of our business.

As the Global Supply Chain Operations Manager, you will be the technical expert in Supply Chain strategy, engagement and management for our projects and play a key, global role in this effort.


You will provide operational leadership in each of our Regions, of Supply Chain Managers assigned to projects, hold responsibility for the training of our Supply Chain personnel, implement tools and processes relevant to the supply chain group, while providing oversight of and insight to the technical and commercial aspects of the work.

Your role will be to improve the quality of our Supply Chain service to our customers' projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Align our processes and activities in support of Global Business Unit & Corporate Supply Chain strategy.
  • Assist the Functional Manager of Supply Chain to focus Supply Chain professionals assigned to projects on performance measurements that provide value to Bechtel and its customers.
  • Provide oversight and support to drive best practices on our projects that positively impact Supply Chain performance across the following areas:
  • relationship management with our customers
- development of project sourcing strategies
- considering formation strategies (dependant on supply chain competency, capacity, risk appetite and critical elements)
- effective formation - risk allocation, flow downs, outcome focussed,
- effective administration and close out

  • Facilitation of Supply Chain readiness for Study and Project functional reviews.
  • Work closely with the Bechtel Legal, Risk Management and Commercial groups to establish a clear DOR for project support in a way that utilises most efficiently and effectively the skills of each function to improve project performance.
  • Other responsibilities as designated.

What You Bring:

  • Degree in Business, Quantity Surveying, Law, Engineering, Construction Management or Cost Engineering from an accredited university and Registration of Licensing Preferred, as well as a minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience, or 21+ years relevant experience in the absence of a degree.
  • Direct experience in the function of managing workload distribution and execution of the work as well as performance evaluation, career counselling for team members.
  • Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices, applicable government and commercial regulations and practices, and Bechtel policies, procedures, and work practices
  • Knowledge and experience in the formation and administration of contracts, and purchase orders including types, terms, and legal requirements.
  • Understanding of Traffic & Logistics and Supplier Quality processes.
  • Proficiency with databases and datacentric project execution will be beneficial.
