Base Salary: Starting from $109,602 plus super and allowances.

About You:

You are a motivated Mechanical Engineer with a background in the energy industry or relevant experience from another sector. Your expertise includes:

  • Non-Destructive Testing methods and result interpretation.
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
  • Inspection and quality assurance of welding, with an understanding of design and manufacturing implications.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems controlling mechanical equipment.
  • Experience in refurbishing rotating machinery, including specifications for machining, welding, assembly, and disassembly.
  • Procurement skills such as specification and material selection.
  • Understanding of design processes and drawing management.
About the position:

This role is initially offered as a 12-month maximum term contract, with the possibility of extension. Working in medium-sized teams, you will contribute to end-to-end project delivery, ensuring the longevity of Hydro Tasmania's key assets in powering the state. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating with various stakeholders, including the Asset and Environmental Strategy and Risk team, project team members, site managers, and supervisors. Travel to remote power stations across the state may be required to support refurbishment efforts.
