The Senior Transport Allocator plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless coordination of transportation activities, with a strong focus on customer and carrier satisfaction. This role requires a detail-oriented and customer-obsessed professional who will be responsible for optimising routes, managing carrier relationships, and continuously improving our transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer-Centric Approach:

  • Understand and anticipate customer needs to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively communicate with customers to provide updates, address concerns, and gather feedback.

Carrier Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure reliable and efficient services.
  • Negotiate rates, terms, and conditions with customers to optimise cost and service levels.

Route Optimisation:

  • Utilise digital systems to optimise routes and maximise efficiency.
  • Continuously assess and improve plans to enhance overall effectiveness.

Problem Solving:

  • Identify and address any issues or challenges in the transportation process promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions and prevent recurrence.

Data Analysis:

  • Analyse transportation data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Generate reports and metrics to track key performance indicators.

  • Proven experience as a duty, line, or store manager in a supermarket environment.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using digital systems and software.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
