The role


We're currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our Operations team at Transdev Sydney Ferries (TDSF) in the role of Staff Allocation Officer.

This full-time, permanent position is perfect for someone who is exceptionally organised, customer-focused, and experienced in rostering and staff engagement.


  • For the right applicant we will also have an opportunity for casual employment_.
  • As a Staff Allocation Officer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained daily to meet operational and fleet service timetable requirements. This involves coordinating and reallocating staff for vessels and wharves due to various factors such as leave, training commitments, and vessel reallocations.


This role is crucial in ensuring adherence to TDSF employment conditions, policies, regulations, and cost management objectives, directly impacting staff payments.

Proficiency with software packages and meticulous attention to detail are essential for success in this position.


Given the nature of the role, you must be willing to work shifts, including mornings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.


What you bring

Key requirements:

  • Strong problemsolving skills with prior experience in roster allocations and workforce planning.
  • Thrives in a highpressure environment and enjoys working with people.
  • Preferably, experience in the Transport industry with knowledge of associated software packages.
  • Familiarity with union environments and experience dealing with delegates is desirable.
