Position Purpose:
The Payroll Officer's responsibilities include payroll processing process,

remitting payroll taxes and related processing, maintain accuracy and integrity
of payroll system data, and to assist staff and management with all payroll
related queries.

The Payroll Officer also prepares reports including monthly, quarterly, and
year-end payroll statements in consultation with the Senior Payroll Officer.

  • Qualification in Payroll, Finance, Business Management
(Administration)

  • Driver's license

Key Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Experience using time and attendance and payroll software
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship building skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accurate data entry
  • Excellent time management & organisational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team

Desirable

  • Payroll related experience within the health/community care sector
  • Experience reviewing payroll processes and creating efficiencies
**PAYROLL OFFICER
**- Experience using HumanForce payroll and time & attendance modules

Responsibilities/Duties
Quality Service - Complete end-to-end fortnightly payroll processing

  • Process reconciliations, accruals, PAYG, superannuation and payroll
tax returns

  • Maintain employee pay and conditions in the payroll systems
including setup and termination of employee profiles

  • Support the implementation of opportunities to improve and
streamline processes to achieve business requirements

  • Support management and the wider employee base to effectively use
Reporting and
Documentation

  • Prepare reports as directed including leave liability, staffing levels,
and condition reports

  • Balances and reconciles fortnightly payroll output, including
generation of documentation to Finance

  • Undertake administrative tasks related to the daytoday and cyclical
personnel/payroll functions
Communication - Action pay related queries and request from employees and external
stakeholders in a responsive and holistic manner

  • Assist with communications for employees when changes to pay and
conditions arise including pay adjustments and classification changes
under direction
Leadership - Model positive working relationships and information exchange
within the team and across the organisation

  • Compliance
  • Operate in accordance with legislative and quality standards
  • Adhere to the ATO and Fair Work compliance requirements
